Mid-East Commission Area Agency on Aging Regional Advisory Committee The mission of the Regional Advisory Committee is to provide leadership and direction in the development of a comprehensive service system for older adults in the Mid-East Commission Planning and Service Area (Beaufort, Bertie, Hertford, Martin, and Pitt Counties) through advocacy, planning, education, review, and evaluation. The Regional Advisory Committee meet in January, March, June, September, and November. Meetings are usually the 4th Thursday of the month with November as the exception. Members determine the meeting date for November. Other meetings may be called as needed. Meetings begin at 10:00AM. Members of the committee are appointed by the Chairman of the Mid-East Commission, based upon recommendations from the county service providers and their respective delegation to the Mid-East Commission Board. To promote intergenerational involvement, the Regional Advisory Committee provides an annual Youth in Aging Award with the financial support from First Citizens Bank of Williamston.
